We met at work over 15 years ago. Laura had been there just over a year when Chris started. From the very beginning, our relationship developed as a very close friendship. Laura worked in Accounting and Chris in Purchasing so our positions allowed us to interact constantly. That time we spent together just talking and learning about each other laid the foundation for our future. Being the same age, we had so much in common. We were always sharing stories from our childhoods, high school, and college, and began to understand that we had something special. Our journey was not always easy, but those difficult times made us appreciate our relationship even more. We were engaged in October 2007 in Aruba, and we got married less than a year later in August 2008. We love to travel and have vacationed to many great locations. We hope to continue to travel as a family once we adopt!

We attempted to get pregnant immediately after our wedding, as we both knew that we wanted children to complete our family. We soon realized that this was not going to happen easily. We struggled through five years of fertility treatments with no success, only disappointment. That difficult time led us to where we are now, completing our family through adoption.

We both have very large extended families. Laura’s mom is one of seven siblings and Chris’s mom is one of eight. We have great relationships with all of our aunts, uncles, and cousins. Family is definitely a priority in our lives! Our families are so excited for us to become parents and are extremely supportive.

Our home is in New York, about an hour east of New York City. We chose our town for its outstanding schools and the proximity to parks and beaches. Our street actually runs parallel to a very large sod farm, so it's a combination of rural and the suburbs. Our location has also allowed us to stay close to our family and friends who are all so excited for us to adopt a baby.
